Common Ground 2009

One of the more popular vendors, Maria’s Tacos, specializes in Mexican food. The Lansing restaurant is selling tacos, burritos and taco salads during Common Ground. Even though vegetarian and chicken burritos and tacos also are offered, owner James Espinoza said most people prefer a meat-filled meal.

“We’ve had over 800 people wait in line since Monday,” Espinoza said. “We have vegetarian meals across the board, but most people don’t get that.”

Heather Kesselring, 44, of Ithaca, usually passes on the red meat, but decided to make an exception during Common Ground as she ate her chicken taco with beans and rice and a Diet Pepsi.
